Audience Response
A Night at the Opera
Words cannot express, nor should they, what a superb, POWERFUL, TRANSCENDENTAL experience you gave us all tonight. I have been transported through all possible emotion and suspended there! Thank you so very much! It was great to have you in Roscommon to witness your wonderful talent and skill.
Rachel Hercha - in a note sent round backstage afterwards.
We enormously enjoyed your production of 'The Barber' at Buxton last week. A carefully thought-out representation of Rossini, simply staged and magnificently acted and sung and a sheer delight of a libretto! The mini-orchestra was brilliant, catching the spirit of the original so well that the absence of the usual 'pit-full' was simply not noticeable. We hope you'll come again to Buxton so that we can see your next production.
With every good wish for your future, Max Ramsay.
We recently attended your production of the Barber of Seville in Armagh and wanted to let you know how much we enjoyed the experience. We all came away feeling so refreshed and in great high spirits having loved every moment. It was highly professional and yet quite intimate because of the size of the theatre. Having enjoyed Cosi so much last year we were so looking forward to this and were not disappointed.

Just a thank you to the cast for a fantastic evening spent at the Mermaid Theatre, Bray, Co. Wicklow. Went not knowing what to expect but was blown away - completely refreshing - fabulous young cast, the humour, the acting, and of course the music. Really wish more people could be exposed to your treatment of opera - think many people would be surprised at how enjoyable and accessible opera can be. It was a real tonic - when are the company coming back to Ireland?! Thanks again

I introduced my 13year old grand daughter to the "Barber" at Bray, Co. Wicklow yesterday. It was her first experience of opera and she (and I) were enthralled with the performance, thank you

Saw your touring production of 'The Barber of Seville' last night in Tipperary. I am a keen opera lover and am fortunate to be able to see opera in many of the leading houses of Europe each year. Just want to say that I enjoyed last night's performance as much as almost any I have seen - the lack of big names, and I suppose numbers, in no way detracted from the sense of fun and the quality of the singing. A big 'well done' and thank you.
Frank Martindale.
I attended your production of Cosi at the Buxton Opera House. I cannot remember when I enjoyed this opera so much; the singing, the acting, set, production, the great ensemble. Your production, for me, was “just right” – pure singing; and what singing! Who could ask for anything more?
Martyn Dyer.
In the audience on Saturday night at Preston, and the whole Opera UK company was fantastic. Professionally done, super voices and great accompaniment...You have 2 fans for ever!..Please convey to cast and musicians alike.

Thank you for a delightful performance of Cosi in Omagh last Wednesday. The singing was superb, the acting wonderful, quick, funny and, overall, convincing! The orchestra was perfect.
A couple from Ballymoney, Co Antrim (a spry lady of 83) came with me. None of them had been to an opera before and she wrote to me afterwards;
“John and I enjoyed it so much and found it a totally absorbing experience. The set, the singing, the orchestra all combined into a first class performance and it is an evening we will always remember.”
I look forward to your next production in Omagh.
Audrey Scales.
Thank you. My friend and I were at the performance of COSI in Athlone. We travel throughout the island of Ireland to see Opera. It is our passion. In the twelve years we have done this your production is better than anything we have seen – including the more famous companies that go to Belfast and Dublin. I notice you are in Coleraine next Saturday. We are going to make the trip ( 250kms north) to see it again!
Mary.
Cosi in the Hawk’s Well, Sligo was a lovely, delightful production, well thought out, well sung and quite believable – we enjoyed every bit of it and hope you’ll come back!

Really nice Cosi fan Tutte you brought to Sligo – don’t ask me how many times I’ve seen COSI – probably 20! I nearly didn’t go because of the footie! But I did, and this is a lovely, sweet production. I love seeing this scale of opera – for me it is the purest and most authentic way – having seen Cosi on the grand stages it is this scale of production that gets to the very essence of the piece and how it would have been seen 200 years ago. Do come back – but make sure there’s not a Champion League Football Final on the same night!
Brenden Quinn.
Hello - Just a quick e-mail to let you and the cast of Cosi Fan Tutti know that my wife and I were among the audience at Preston's Charter Theatre and we take this opportunity to congratulate the cast for what turned out to be the most enjoyable night.
With Best Regards,
Gail & Peter Smith
